No-Title Magazine – Issue 25

Sorry I’ve not been active for a while but I’m now back, starting off with some photos I recently got published in Leeds based No-Title Magazine. They published two sets of photos, one from the Hard Dance Awards and one from the Root One band shoot.

Hard Dance Awards 2009 Photos

I Went to the Hard Dance Awards 2009 2 weeks ago for No Title Magazine who are doing a review. I borrowed the Canon 430EX flash from my good friend Mark to get the best shots. The night turned out to be an excellent practice ground for experimentation with long exposure flash shots as you can see from the photos below. I even got some nice shots of DJs Rob Tissera and Mark EG! For the full photo set selection go to my photo gallery.

Gear used: My canon 400D, Canon 24-105mm lens, the Sigma 10-20mm lens and Canon 430EX flash.

The best part of the night was hanging out between the stage and crowd barriers to capture the dancing crowd. Here are a few examples where I’ve used long exposure flash. Notice that the photos aren’t 100% sharp all over and come alive with the important areas being sharp to different degrees (by the flash) and the rest being blurred.

It was a great night and I hope you liked the set. Also check out the Raisetheroof 2009 photos from the event organised by No-Title magazine.
